Beef stew and a visitor...

88/365

The benefit of making your own homemade bone broth for your beef stew is that when your kids only drink the broth with a straw and eat a few carrots you can go to bed at night knowing your kids got more than just some sodium and beef flavoring. It makes my heart happy when my work pays off.
In other news, we had a strange visitor today. I was emptying the dishwasher and the boy tells me there is a snake. I thought it was a worm. It's super tiny but as I watched it move it became apparent that it was in fact a snake! So we researched it and it is a threadsnake. They live underground and eat spiders and ants. Yay! They also let off a musk and kind of freak out when you touch them. Stinky little bugger. We let him go out front. May the force be with you little snake!

Just home from school...

87/365

I am pretty sure the bus drivers look forward to seeing how this boy is going to be dressed for school everyday. Today this is exactly as he went. He was Spiderman. He came home got a snack and sat down to watch some Sheriff Callie.

Roll up the rug...

86/365

We got a new rug in the mail from Amazon because that's how we roll. Riding the edge without a helmet! I got an outdoor/indoor rug and I was nervous, but I love it. The directions for cleaning literally say use a hose to spray it off. That's my kind of rug!

Soaking up the knowledge

85/365
Today I cleaned my room in hopes that I might find my crochet hooks. No luck.
Sugar plum is enthralled by this particular cook book that she keeps stealing out of my mom's room. Maybe she will become a world famous chef and I will get to eat yummy food from then on out. Dreams!

A whole new world.

84/365
I ventured out with both the babies to the grocery store.  I usually have good luck with getting a double shopping cart but today it was not in the cards. I trolled the parking lot, I searched high and low, but no cart for us. That's OK because they were all being used by people with no kid in the cart (a six year old walking along side) or with one kid in the cart. My kid was all squished up because of the groceries. Yes, I was glaring under my breath, it was really irritating. In the end though, I had a lovely woman help me unload my groceries, the cashier and the bag guy were super nice and kind and another man came and congratulated me on my children. Which is weird, but then again, they took so much to get here perhaps congratulations are in order. He was very nice and I left the grocery store feeling like I had more faith in the human race. I was uplifted and happy. God is cool that way.

When we got home the munchkins were playing in the front yard. It was like the coolest thing they had seen all day. Rocks are awesome. :)

Clean rooms

83/365
Today we cleaned the twins room up. Got rid of a bed that we didn't need and now they have space to play! Hooray space!

Also, this is my favorite outfit choice of the whole week.

Like mama...

82/365

This girl has been cracking me up lately. This morning we spent some quality time getting ready for church. Boy howdy do kids watch us closely. I had no idea she knew what to do with these.

Well...sort of. :)

The clippie thing in her hair is some do dad I got from Japan. It was like a dollar and supposed to make your bangs dry perfect but the directions are in Japanese and thus, my bangs and those of doodles were not perfect. I will have to do more research.
Shwooo, long day that Sunday.
Goodnight.

Moonpie and parties

81/365
I felt like we could all use a little more Moonpie in this challenge. He is adorable. We went to the park for a birthday party and they had a blast.

It was a long day, we went rug and bed shopping. Quite exhausting. We saw some puppies that were wanting to be adopted and the kids loved them. We may be getting a dog over Easter. I am super excited but worried it will somehow not work out. :( Sad face. But if it does, I think it will be a perfect fit. It will be nice to have a smallish dog the kids can play with and the dog might actually like them. The only dog that really likes them now is my mom's Bernese and she is like a small horse. A Yorki seems much more manageable. :) Plus the no shed, huge bonus. Also she is already potty trained. Score for us! Crossing my fingers it works out.

Hooray for Friday

80/365
Some things about today. We took the worlds saddest walk. This, of course means, that the boy cried all the way home because he wanted to go a different way but he also wanted me to carry his bike and push the twins in the stroller and that didn't happen. He was the saddest pirate riding a bike ever, but we all lived and took a nap and things are looking much brighter now. :)

Other things about today include:
It probably should be called the big box of construction but we call it as we see it.
Went to the dollar store and got a pile of stuff for the craft box o doom.
 Breakfast for dinner, it's brinner!
Cool cool glasses...My Easter decor is cooler than you and me.
Doodle found these pink croc things and has not let them out of her sight. Best thing ever. Apparently... I really did try to tell her they are ugly, but she wasn't buying it. They are cute on her so I guess I will let it go.
Finished a pink Minnie purse. Yay! Except I forgot the ruffle and put it on later oops.
Some pirate fun to pass the time.

Easter Eggs

79/365
I love Easter. I love spring. Spring hates my sinuses but I still love spring. New beginnings, hope and new life. I just love it! Plus I found a use for the cake plate I have been trying to sell to no avail. Hooray for use!

The boy

78/365
I'm calling this one in.  On my phone. Literally.
On this, the 78 th day of the year, the very day before spring has sprung, I lost it.  I lost it, and was reduced to a seething pile of blubbering goo, because of one small 3 going on 4 year old boy. This boy, who only yesterday took my mother's shears and cut a hole in her hand crafted afghan,  who knows not the meaning of the word "no", and "stay out of this, do not touch". This boy took the one irreplaceable VHS. The one with family home videos, crawled under the new coffee table, and proceeded to pull it to pieces.  Could he have grabbed sort circuit?  Sure, but what's the fun in that?
After a day of whining and tears over nothing I knew he was tired, but did this boy take a nap?  No, not until after the destruction and tears we both shed on this fateful day.  At 5 on he finally crashed and I could breathe.  It's been a really long horrible day.  my husbandis still sitting outside his room trying to get him to sleep. As for me,  I'm going to drink my sleepy time tea and hope for better tomorrow. Maybe I'll watch short circuit.

Bunny picnic

77/365

This morning the boy noticed I had put up the Easter decorations. He loves them so much. He laid out a blanket and his chocolate milk and had a picnic with the bunnies.
Friday he came home from school all banged up. He is healing but his face still looks a little rough.
By the by, I have a 76 pic, but it's a bathtub pic and creepers and Internets and you can't see anything but just yeah. Not pictured. but it's of Moonpie and it's cute. You will have to trust me on this one.

The Red Queen and the Mooster...

75/365

 The Red Queen.
This girl is so surly. I need her to learn how to speak like pronto.
The "Mooster"
So the boy tells me the other day that he wants his mooster hat. What? My mooster hat. You know like the song. "dress up like a moose during hunting season. I think he listens to Dumb ways to die too much.

Beautiful park day!

74/365

We wanted to fly kites, decided it wasn't windy but it was! So we didn't bring our kites but kids tried to run into the lake and run in three different directions and the boy dropped his hat in the lake and screamed like his best friend was drowning.  Fun times! Sometimes I think it's best we stay in the house. Nice and safe and sane. ;)

Sharing is caring and caring is love

73/365

These two have had a rough start. Mostly because my little doodle pants is a grump but I think they are starting to warm up to each other and by they I mean doodle grumpy pants.

Congrats!

 Grandpa officially retired!

The face...

71/365
I am making these headbands to try and make some extra moolah.
I was hoping for a cooperative model. I had the TV on and everything all she had to do was stare blankly and cutely into the distance.
Lately, we have been getting a lot of this face. There is no rhyme or reason to it, she just makes this face. I love it though.
Moonpie was up all night with croup. I am beat. So yeah, discarded headband pictures are what you get.

Orange you glad?

70/365
Cheetos? What Cheetos?

Doll face...

69/365
I made a doll to see if I can sell her. She's so cute, I am not sure I want to.

Pizazz!

68/365
I have realized of late, that I have always liked flowers and pink and bows and tutus and all things girly. I spent most of my life trying to pretend I didn't, because it wasn't cool to like those things, strangely enough, it wasn't cool because it was the norm?
Was it the norm?
I don't know.
Grunge. I remember grunge. Ew. Why did it have to be grunge?
Anywhoo...
I like flowers and I like accents and I like stuff with a little pizazz. I like the word Pizazz. I like details and things that add to beauty. Clean and simple have their place I suppose, but give me the pizazz!

Siblings

67/365
If he did this to her, there would be hell to pay. I assure you.

Coloring all day

66/365

Miss Petunia has a new pastime.

On being super...

65/365

The puppies

64/365
My puppies. The dog, I swear, thinks she is one of the puppies, I mean kids. If I sit or squat especially to take a picture she thinks it's snuggle time and jumps in my lap. Good thing she is so small.

Papa

63/365

Playing with Grandpa and Grandma. Grandpa likes to growl and chase. They love it. I love this picture of Ethan's face as he runs away.

No soup for you

62/365

When Tablet time is over...

Hammer guy

61/365
I love the deep voice with which he asks. "Need anything fixed?" All went well with hammer guy until it didn't and his hammer was taken away. Tomorrow is a new day.

Cousins were there to both take the blow and ease the blow. Good thing kids are forgiving right?

Lehi Days

60/365
We were worried the storm would keep us from our rodeo plans but it was actually a nice overcast cool day. The kids loved the petting zoo and riding the ponies. We had a great day.
The boy chickened out last minute but the babies loved it and didn't even feel the need to hang on.
Watching the rodeo
 Petting some goats
What are you trying to feed me!?

Como te llamas?

59/365

We had an especially fun day outside waiting for the rain storm to come. Doodle in her two different boots and Moonpie in my favorite shirt ever. The boy rode around on his bike.
We laid on the ground and looked at the clouds. Well I laid on the ground and looked at the clouds and they pummeled me. Fun times. :)
