Dirt

55/365

Sometimes you just have to get out of the norm and go get in some dirt.

The most important meal of the day...

54/365

Breakfast. I wanted to catch the intensity with which Moonpie eats. He examines everything thoroughly and he nibbles to make sure it's palatable, and he makes a face only the most skilled food critic can make. I don't think I caught it, but breakfast was fun to catch anyway. :)

We had St. Patty's day Lucky charms. Maybe marshmallows negate the need to study food, it must be good so just dive in, am I right? J told the kids the story of Hansel and Gretel while we ate, but used them as the stars of the story and they were enthralled. I love watching them listen to their dad spin a yarn. The boy was trying to retell it and it's just adorable.

I am still trying to love church. I guess it's good that I am trying. The kids were not horrible today so that's an improvement, I could hear the speakers, mostly... but the kids in nursery were horrible. Never the non horrible shall meet I suppose. It's more about my attitude than anything. I am going to have to go all former preschool teacher on my class. Bust out the poster board!

Also, I made pies. And that makes things better. They were probably some of my best. Well, I can't speak to one of them, we didn't have enough people for dinner to break into a second one.
Breakfast with a dash of regret, but mostly breakfast. :)

Flinging Pooh...

53/365

J got the kids wrangled into the crib for a fun game of pooh toss. He's a genius, kept them all in one spot and happy for a while.

It's all fun and games until...

The lip.

But they got over it and had more fun.

If you are going to fling pooh, this is the way to do it. Much better than the actual poo I was cleaning up yesterday. *shudders*

up all night

A certain little monster kept me up all night and I didn't get a picture today but one of him in his diaper and a plant outside. Long long super long day. I would post the diaper pic, but creepers and what not so you get this. It was a long day but the kids were suprisingly nice considering the lack of sleep and I held it together (mostly) too.  Teamwork. *insert The boy's thumbs up and cheesy smile here*

Here comes the claw!

51/365

Daddy was tickling the babies on our walk. They would laugh and kick and then do the sign for "again".

So I've been feeling pretty prickly...
A cactus full of prickles and yellow goodness.

But I have hope for change.
Aloe Vera is supposed to be healing. Hence hope, maybe?

Joys and blessings...

50/365

The best part of this project is when I am having a blue kind of day, I get to edit pictures of these sweet little angel people. I get to remember the miracles that brought them here. I remember how very loved we are of the Lord and I just smile. I can't help but smile. What a blessing and what a joy.

Sharing is caring

49/365

Playing some games. I love that they (mostly) can share. :)
I am sad I cut off her feet, but I tell you these kids are quick! My kids love sweet peppers. I am glad they are willing to try new foods, for the most part. The other day Moonpie was trying some food and he would just stick his tongue out and wiggle it across the new food. Gosh some things are hard to explain in text. :)

As an added bonus, another bouquet of tulips showed up. I guess J had ordered three bunches and only two had come for Valentines day. It was a nice surprise and made me very happy. Aren't they pretty?

Monday, Monday...

Can't trust that day...
I've been in a weird funk. I feel like changes need to be made. I am going to start doing yoga and I am going to try really hard to tap dance more regularly. I just feel a little lost in mommy hood. Which, I suppose is normal. It's hard to change things though. I tried tap dancing the other day and Moonpie grabbed me around both legs with his head in between and just yelled until I picked him up and stopped my dancing. I guess you could say he is a little demanding. I think I just need to get a bit more organized. It doesn't come natural to me at all so it's going to be hard. Wish me luck. We had all the cousins over at some point on Monday. That was fun and at least made the day more interesting.

The boy is doing great at school. He's been pretending to teach us. He says, "You guys! It's time for a story ok?" And then he asks us questions and tells us we are right. It's really cute. He's also been dragging Jingle (giant sized dog above) all around. He calls him his pet and has us feed him. He also has a tiny baby that he always has with him. He takes it for rides in his cars out back. His pretender is going full force and I love it.

They call me, the nose!

47/365
A new super hero came to play. We don't know her name, but we call her "The nose"

The birthday party

46/365
The boy threw me a birthday party. I couldn't fit it all in frame and I ended up liking this one best. I mean, who wouldn't? He had his new bike helmet, a cupcake, his new water bottle, and all of these bikes and cars all lined up and then he yelled surprise and told me it was my birthday. Awww. What a guy!

My valentine

45/365
I was telling Jason how much I would love to live in Holland and just see fields of tulips growing in colorful rows for miles. Truth be told I'd rather live here and see that but it would just be so pretty. He remembered me saying something about tulips and got them for me for Valentines day. Awww. What a guy!

Boogers in black and white...

44/365
I think one of the biggest hang up's I have with photography is I worry I am not doing it right? I feel like I am going to be caught making rookie mistakes and somehow that will ruin my life? Here's the thing though, I am a rookie. I am learning slowly and I make mistakes. If someone were to point them out, I could improve, so what am I so afraid of? Dang perfectionist tenancies. If you were to kindly make suggestions on how I might improve I would appreciate it. No, really, I would. ;)

One of the photography sites I follow had an article on split lighting and I got these of Doodle and gave it a go. Black and white is pretty hard to get right especially with my limited skills. The things I like are the shadow of the flowers on the wall behind her, and the boogers, the boogers are epic! It's hard to find a place in my house with negative space, there is always tons going on in the background but I like it when the kids work at the table. I can usually get some shots with out much else in the frame. The other issue I am struggling with is consistency but I guess I am still trying to figure out what my "thing" is so it makes sense I would be all over the place for now. Right? I think so.

She is so funny. She is my only child that can eat an orange with out trying to eat the peel. She is so careful about so many things but her face is always a disaster. I feel like all I do is wipe her down but still I pull out the camera and she's caked with frosting and boogers. She's so grubby and I just love that about her.

Babies and cribs

43/365
Baby boy came to say hi. Doodle is in love, but it's a tough love. Gotta keep an eye on her

I had a hard time choosing. This one I love too. The boy got himself stuck in a crib, which leaves me wondering why we ever gave him a big boy bed in the first place? I could sleep through the night. Oh wait, potty training. :)

Baby photo shoot

Awwwwww!

Bumpers by post

It's not every day a bumper comes in the mail, but when it does holy bubble wrap! 41/365

So much for that...

40/365

Today I thought it might be nice to have Jason take a picture of me with the kids in our Sunday best.
So much for my ideas. :)

To the zoo!

39/365
We took the kiddos to the zoo. It's nice to have a pass. We can leave when we want and we can go when we want. It was a beautiful day.

Clean sweep...

38/365
It's funny how things are only interesting and fun if they have been cleaned up. I spent all morning cleaning the kids rooms and when I came back in I found this. :) We also got to spend time with cousins from out of town today. That was a lot of fun. Always fun to see family.

Orange you glad

37/365
I've been juicing oranges in the morning. Love having trees in my back yard. It's a beautiful, tasty thing.

The horror

36/365
I went in to get Petunia up from her nap and this is what I saw. There was a split second of total and utter freak out fear but then I realized she was smiling at me. Bloody nose for the win. Now if I could just keep her fingers out of her nose.

The ugly truth

35/365
We have been babsitting and kids have been grumpy. This was a quiet moment. It looks like a bomb went off. :)

Sad day but happy day

35/365
We have been baby sitting while babies are being born. It makes for some tired kidletts and when there are tired kids, there are tears. Girls are not dramatic at all.

Blanket

33/365
Working on a blanket for the doodle bug.

If she likes it this much now, she's going to love it when it's all together!
