POP!
179/365
Dad bought fireworks and let the kids throw some poppers. Doodle put her whole soul into the throw. Moonpie was not so sure. The boy loved them.
Dad for the win.
The box plane...
177/365
Mom had a brilliant idea. One that would fill the hours with joy and laughter. We would make an airplane out of a cardboard box. We would decorate and build and then play.
10 minutes later...
Copilots were fired.
For insubordination.
New copilots were hired...
and fired.
If you want to do something right do it yourself, or just watch TV in a box.

Now for something completely different...
176/365
For the record: I often try to think about stationary beautiful things I could take pictures of. Things that hold so still I could sit and compose and practice.
Things are boring.
These people? Not boring. Nope. Not one bit.
I guess the moral of the story is this.

Mr. Cool...
173/365
He's Mr. Personality these days and the camera is eating it up!
Seeking.
I have not felt very good since getting back from the cruise. I blame the heat.
Swim all day...
172/365
Our dear friends came down to see us. We had a great time and this boy got to swim his little heart out. I bought him this mask and snorkel and he has been doing so great with it. He puts his face in the water and paddles around. He's getting so much better at swimming and that makes a mom's heart happy.

Arrrrg...
168/365
Doodle is for the health of all pirates in our house. :)
I made a watermark.
Then I read an Article about how watermarking your photos shows conceit and a lack of confidence.
O_o
Because that makes sense.
And I thought, "Well, so be it."
It was fun to make. I want to make more but see no reason to. :) New skillz, with a z people, it's serious.
And I know that it won't keep people who really want to from taking my photo, and I am not really trying to get my name out there or anything, but it just felt like the smart thing to do. Someone compared it to an artist signing their name. I like that, so we will go with that? Or not? I haven't decided but they are pretty. :)

Hero...
167/365
The boy told me his aunt and uncle must love him a lot to give him such a great toy. I had to agree. :) Yesterday he was singing Mr. Sun for us. Today he was outside, he looked up got really excited, a huge grin spread across his face and said, "Mom! Mr. Sun IS shining down on me!" Adorbs.

Snuggle bugs...
166/365
It feels like we never left, except we have new hats. ;) So happy to snuggle my babies today.
Home again, home again...
165/365
Well, back to Seattle at least. I debated and debated trying to bring a bouquet home but in the end the long day in the air port would probably have done them in.
Next time Seattle, Next time.
Victoria
163 was a bust. Just a day on the ship and I didn't take any pictures. We were out of Alaska with the vistas and white capped mountains and I was tired. ;)
164/365
Victoria was pretty but I have to admit a little underwhelming after Alaska. There also wasn't much to do but shop I wanted to go whale watching again because they often see Orca but we just aren't that rich. :) We walked around and found some seal in the harbor with all the house boats and a marmot who hangs out with bees.

Skagway
Because of the great goodness of people in our lives we were able to ride the train in Skagway. The stories of the Klondike gold rush were sad and amazing. We had great tour guides and I think of all the towns Skagway was my favorite to just wander around. They preserved many of the original buildings and we learned a lot on the walking tour. The train took us into Canada and then we took the highway back down with a friend of ours who lives up there and does the tours. If you go get Andy to be your guide. He was great. Thank you again!
Added bonus of knowing the tour guide you get pictures together!
Pitch fork falls.
When we got back to the boat we had reservations at the French restaurant on board. It was really good and we had a great time celebrating. They even had a group come and serenade us while we ate. Awkward, but nice. :)
Whale watching
161/365
Humpback whale
Giganto sea lions
Eagles were everywhere in Juneau. This was from inside the boat going fast so not great but the best I got.
A glacier. I think it was Davidson?
A whale of a tail.
Mendenhall Glacier. The blue color is so amazing.
We also took the ship down Tracy arm and saw Sawyer Glacier.
