Fun with the family...

Last week were able to spend time with Jason's family. It's always nice to be able to do that and it's especially nice now that it's not a five hour drive! *throws confetti* We got to celebrate Grandma's 80th birthday. It was a lot of fun.

I saw interesting things like a great dane standing on a car.

And lots of children

But I found myself following one in particular. She is quiet but can cause quite a ruckus, and I wanted to be the one to catch the next one.

I liked how she tucked her feet in to twirl.

She doesn't look like much to be feared.

But don't let the smile fool you. She is a messer.

She even tried to throw us off by looking like she didn't like to get messy.
And I thought after dumping water on Aarons head and throwing sand, that I had caught my moment, but no, she's good and she waited until every, single, person in that house was distracted, and there were a lot of people.

That is when she swooped in and made her move. This next shot has been staged to appear how she was found.

Yes, a whole bag of flour dumped on the floor. You gotta a keep an eye on this one.

I remember being young and loving to swing. It was such a feeling of freedom.

Matthew is begging someone to give him and underdog.

Uncle Kevin to the rescue.

And Uncle Jason and Shaylee share some quality time on the swings. Swings bring people together.

And this is Aaron, why would anyone want to dump water on him? He's so cute.
We also had a chance to catch some wildflowers.

But the moral of the story is, if you happen to meet a certain little girl, keep an eye on her, she will get into trouble when your back is turned.

You don't know how to dress a goat?

I do believe this may be the only church building in the church to have a rodeo ground behind it. Maybe I am wrong, but I sure haven't heard of any others. And it may also be the only place where children grow up chasing chickens, and greased pigs, and dressing goats and riding sheep, that I know of, at least once a year anyway. This last weekend was Lehi Days, and it is worth going if only for the food. The food is divine, but it is also fun to watch the crazy proceedings.

So for those of you who don't know how to dress a goat, I have broken it down into 4 easy steps. I make learning FUN!

First you must be prepared, and by prepared I mean, one person on your two person team must be wearing the bloomers...

Next you must run at the goat as if your life depended on it. I particularly liked the form this team showed. Notice the hands and the determination, they very well could be professionals. They won this round by the way...

Meanwhile the goats life is flashing before it's eyes.

Third you grab that goat and put the bloomers on it.

Fourth you walk away and the goat slowly recovers from watching it's life flash before it's eyes. Maybe it's a fainting goat, but I think it was done by this round.

I didn't get pictures of the grocery race which is three people on a pony who have to grab a watermelon, a glass of water, and an egg and get it back across the finish line without dropping or spilling. Fun times.

Gunny got his cowboy on...

But that's not suprising.

Tater got to see the animals...

It was a fun day! It's nice to be home, and it didn't even rain on Lehi Days, it waited till Sunday. Thanks rain!

I also have some pictures of some projects. My mom asked me to make these and they came out super cute if I do say so myself, and I do...

Aren't they pretty! I think so. PS come to crochet class tomorrow!

Crochet people...

NO PREVIOUS CROCHET KNOWLEDGE NEEDED!

OK, so I am hoping to have a crochet get together this month, I am thinking a Tues or a Thursday and our beginner project will be a cute and cuddly cupcake! They make really cute pin cushions then the pins look like sprinkles! Cute!

You will need:
Cake colored yarn and Icing colored yarn
A size G hook
Black embroidery thread.
and a smile!

PS you do not need very much yarn so if you happen to have little balls of leftover yarn that's fine. If you really don't want to buy two skeins of yarn for a little cupcake I probably have some random yarn laying around. Anybody who has random small balls of yarn laying around you want to donate to the project pile. That would be fan-super-tab-u-lous.

Things are still ridiculous around here but I am hoping if I throw this out into the universe it will somehow magically come to pass. So, let me know which day is best for you Tues or Thursday and I will make this happen.

If you already know how to crochet you are more than welcome to come and work on your UFO's (Un-Finished Objects) chat and have fun, or make a cuddly cupcake too. I hope it will be fun. Yummy snacks are also welcome.

Time and place TBA.
