sleepy

31/365
The boy kept me up all night and today has been a lazy day.

Pirates

30/365

We had an afternoon of pirates and ships and treasures and naturally a bear that was trying to get us. It always ends up with us hiding in a closet, and my fearing for little fingers in doors, but they have a good time.

Crafty

29/365
I made this sign using vinyl as a stencil but the vinyl pulled some of paint off. I need to figure out what is wrong. Either the wood I chose is the issue or the paint. More trial and error. It came out kind of OK though.

Exhaustion isn't comfortable...

Fireworks

25/365 Fireworks.

We watched some fireworks tonight it was still dusk and so the sky wasn't as dark it made for a fun picture. The fireworks actually blew over to where we were and we had to take our shrieking children and run farther away.  Nothing like a good trauma for your Saturday plans.
They were picking up casings right where we had been.

Chocolate goatee

24/365
She breaks the cookie and then scoops the chocolate chips out with her fingers. Keep it messy!

Bats and shoes

23/365

Doodle wore these all the day long, even when she climbed on the wood pile and splashed in puddles. I took them off of her tonight and she was so sad.

They may be worn out before they ever fit her properly.

I also had batman heading to school again. I have to wonder how his teacher feels about this. His bus drivers think he's a hoot.

Baby toes

22/365

My sweet babies toes.
My Moon pie gives the best hugs, the most slobbery kisses and I love him so.

Reading and pretzles...

21/365
I like the story this one tells.
But this one here below is just too funny.

Have a pretzel or 9...
Maybe she is actually a prodigy. Note the 9 on the page of her book, never mind, there are way more than 9 pretzels there.

Foliage

f 1.8 no editing. I love how this came out. It was the last moments of light while we were out walking.

Mind your P's and Q's

19/365

Fun story, I had to flip this image so it didn't look a q. Daddy taught him this trick. "Mom, There's P on my finger!"

I just can't get far enough away with the 50mm. Maybe a miracle will happen and I will find the money for a 35mm under a rock somewhere. That would be nice.

Strollin'

18/365

This is our new stroller. We love it. My forearms will no longer be in danger of looking like Rosie the Riveter's. Seriously, it's a dream to push. Thank you craigslist!

Rockwell's has admittedly beefier arms, manly arms even, but still. Not my goal.

Overexposed.

17/365
Overexposed.
What do you do with terrible light?
Today was rough. Sometimes I feel like the only other person I can identify with is the mayor of munchkin land, and I'm pretty sure he doesn't exist.
We have been living with other people for almost 4 years now. It's hard to be on display 24/7.
I feel overexposed and oh so tired.
OCD is real.
My heart is telling me I need a puppy or a kitty but everyone who loves me says it's a bad idea, and in their defense it more than likely is. For whatever reason, that just makes me feel that much more out of control of my circumstances, and incapable of dealing with life. Which is a horrible feeling.
Which makes me crazy.
Which makes people tell me not to attempt the life I want, because I'm already crazy.
Cycles and waiting and more waiting.

Today I am thankful for chewable medicines. The boy got struck down with a bug. I say struck down because that's how fast it hits. He's been a wallowing pile of whine and misery and he has been a barnacle. It's emotionally exhausting.
He finally took his medicine and is back to himself for the most part. Thank goodness, my hair may stay on my head. He's a terrible patient.
Luckily he gets sick rarely.

It would be nice to snuggle up with a furry little animal that loves me right about now.

Super hero hideout

16/365

This boy went to school like this. The bus drivers just love him. He's a hoot. This is his hideout
Lesson for the day: Toddlers are not helpful when putting together a tent.
Your welcome.

Flying

15/365
This kid is pushing boundaries and buttons.  He's also completely adorable and so very loved.  We went on a flying adventure this afternoon then had pomegranate and goldfish for a snack. Took an hour long walk and didn't get very far but sang old MacDonald at the top of our lungs most of the trip.  :) My arms hurt.

concentrate

14/365
While the kiddos played with the blocks, I got to get some work done on some decorations for the baby shower. I love the 50mm and the blur I can get with it.

Does he seen?

13/365
He was singing into the mirror.
J told me a funny story while I was editing this. I guess the boy came and was trying to ask him something.
The Boy: Does he seen?
J:What?
The Boy: Does he seen?
J: I am sorry I don't know what you are asking me.
The boy: Does he seen, you know, La la la la la la!
J:Oh, does he sing!

I got to take my Mother in law shopping for some last minute mission needs. It was nice to spend some time with her before they leave for South Africa. They will be missed. I am glad they came to spend some time. :)

Tears and tulle, it must be Sunday...

12/365
Ah Sunday, you bring so much of this to the table, and not just from the kids. Blessed day of peace and rest. ;)

Two for one!

10/365 Two left feet
The boy wanted me to chase him.  I told him I couldn't because there were too many rocks on the pavement and it would hurt my feet. Thinking I would reinforce a rule to keep rocks in the rock area. He just went in the house and brought me these. Perfect for chasing boys.

11/365 Keeping a weary eye
,
I am seriously considering just making my project into a batman project. Batman at home. I could get him to bake cookies, check the mail, and make the bed. I have a picture of him in a fox hat with that shirt on at costco. Every so often a basket of kids would go by and start singing. I love that he dresses up.  "Mom, I need snuggles." I knew it was to avoid bed, but who can say no to that?

Super hero

8/365
After a long, hard day of motherhood, a super hero came home early and met us on our walk. He brought us pizza to boot. It's so nice when daddy comes home. :)

Working on schedules and making some things more consistent around here. Here's to hoping it works. :)

Had a hard time choosing today.
 The meltdown
The outdoor concert with a special appearance from R's noggin complete with top pony.
She's his biggest fan. :)
I swear, he wants to wear jammies all day every day.
 A little hesitant.
Ear symmetry. I love batman in Santa PJ's. That never gets old.

Rearview...

This did not come out as I had hoped
I found myself sitting on the floor of Costco with a 55 lb bag of dog food on me today as well.
I was hoping to get both babies in the shot. Maybe I need a different lens or a new perspective. Finally getting over this cold.
We will try again another day, hopefully with the boy.
He went back to school today so it was just the babies, Grandma and I.

Another day...

6/365
I had a hard time choosing today again. We had superhero costumes and monsters running about but, I liked little missy and her hair tie bracelet. She has been so funny lately. Love her.

Handmade with love

5/365
Kamikaze kate got a little Minnie Mouse doll for Christmas, which is already missing many pieces. I crocheted her a little Minnie mouse purse to put her stuff in! I finished it today.

I'm using a 50mm lens for this challenge and it has been a challenge. I just can't get far enough away from my kids fast enough. They are just getting faster and faster. I'm getting some exercise at the same time. :) I'm glad my kids want to be with me in every sense of the word but it makes getting those candid shots pretty tough. I think I am going to have to wear camo and sneak around on the floor. I would like the prime 35mm but it's like $1400 so, yeah. Not happening. I can only get better doing this challenge!

I stayed home sick from church so the babies stayed with me. I was feeling pretty bad about it, it was supposed to be my first day of my actual calling and my sister is the nursery leader and so I didn't want to let her down, but then I opened the freezer and found half a bag of Cheetos crammed in there. It reaffirmed that I had no business being around other people. :) Here's hoping this cold goes away quickly.

Choosey mom's choose...

4/365
I had a hard time choosing which picture to use. In my stuffy cold head haze I actually managed to take several pictures. The hard part? Choosing which will represent today. The best part of today was not the persistent headache or the power struggles. It was by far my time spent in my son's closet, which for all intents and purposes, was an airplane he was piloting to the temple lights. I got to go along. The light was low but I still liked how this one came out. I love that this boy has such a great imagination and it is so fun to witness it bloom.

Here are the runners up.
 Art work?

Claimed...

Doodle has to make sure all the other cousins know he's her papa too.  She's not possessive at all.

A pear for lucky people...

2/365

A pear for lucky people...
It's been a weird day. This morning was wonderful I thought it was going to be sunshine and gumdrops but then it progressively deteriorated. This one is in that quasi nap stage, you just never really know, but lack of sleep makes him destructive and grumpy. Funny story, he went with me to the grocery store today. He calls Fry's "the madhouse" because we went before Christmas one day and it was insanely busy and I called it a madhouse so now he is convinced that it is a madhouse and all the people in it are "lucky" (yucky) I didn't say that, by the by he just deduced. Anyway, we were in the produce department and he asked, "The people here lucky?" with a disgusted look on his face. I assured him they were not and then decided I am grateful that he can't say the word yucky yet. Tender mercies. Also, while I was at the store I found myself very grateful that I can provide healthy delicious food for my kids, what a blessing. He picked out this pear and it was juicy and delicious and I am glad I could buy it for him. Yay food.
If his bite looks a little forced it's because it totally is. I can't say he never cooperates.

Steam roller

1/365

This is moonpie's favorite game. He gives the best hugs and the most slobbery kisses.
