All but cotton candy...

We had a fun weekend this past one. We were at the parental unit's home for a 100 year celebration of education! I know, you wish you had come.

I woke up to the wonderful smile of my sweet baby boy. Actually, his dad woke up to the sweet smile of our wonderful baby boy and he even got his milk and everything, because mom has been up sweating all night. (*sings* I loooooove hormones soooo much!*) We had biscuits and gravy, because that's what you eat at Grandma's. Can I tell you how nice it is to have married into a family with the same biscuit and gravy values that I grew up with? It's really nice. Biscuits and gravy are just dreamy, and make you feel so wavy. (Seriously guys, songs were sung about the pure joy and bliss of biscuits and gravy when I was a kid. We made up songs, that's how much we love them. That, and we were weird kids, fun, but weird. Since the majority of this audience are those kids, they can attest.)

I stressed out about finding a babysitter for next weekend so the husband and I could go out on a date! Cinematic titanic! I know you are jealous of that too. Mrs. the Q finally took pity on us and our babysitterless state, and I bought tickets. Then the boy and I went outside and sat on the trampoline. It was a beautiful day, the breeze, the sun. It was heavenly. We said hi to the goat and the rabbits, and sat on the trampoline some more. Then I went in and saw that all the other girls were dolled up, so my sis in law dolled me up too.

Ask the kiddo how much he likes static. He loves it. Not so much.

Then we went on an all girl lunch date. To the A&W at the truck stop. I know, you are sooooo jealous! But we had a great time and we got to talk and hang out and it was really nice. I find it is best to marry into a really nice family that you happen to love. It makes married life so much more fabulous.

This is the all dolled up me. (above)

Then we went to the celebration. There was a petting zoo, and a dunk tank, and good food. There was also a big wagon being pulled by three mules. It was a really nice day, and a really great weekend.

Llama face!

and I really really really wanted to take this little lamb home and name him lambert or herbert and love him forever.

The cousins watching the dunk tank.

The boy watching the animals.

so the kid who's head you see there, For some reason he decided I was a pretty awesome lady and followed me around for a while. He asked me fight him in the blow up battle thingy. I declined, and then he left. I guess I wasn't as cool as he thought. It's not his fault, red heads have always been inexplicably attracted to me, I am not sure why.

Some Elvis lip for your enjoyment.
On Great Grandpa's saddle.

Ride em cowboy!
Now, you might think any kid would like cotton candy. I mean, what's not to like about cotton candy? This kid especially should like cotton candy. He has eaten Grapefruit without so much as a pause, limes?, no problem, pickles?, bring em on. Cotton candy? Now that's where he draws the line!
And his dad is mean, and even made him wear it.
The wagon ride was fun, and when dad would say wooo hooo, the lil guy would whoo hoo back. That's his wooing and hooing.

And these little darlings sat right up front and chanted, "faster! Faster! Faster!"
As we waited in line for what seemed like an eternity to get cotton candy, because we thought the boy was just kidding when he didn't like it, we thought to ourselves, what a nice day, and it was. Then we walked home in the dark and sang, Tonight you belong to me and ate our cotton candy and laughed at the faces the boy made when we tried to feed it to him. Perfect!
P to the S, you now have to push play on my playlist because the hubs is morally against playlists that play automatically. It's lame, but that's how it is.

OK Kelly, I think this is my favorite post of yours ever!!! Seriously, there is so much happiness in it, it makes me happy for you. I was seriously cracking up at the Elvis lip, the cotton candy beard, your red head attractiveness, everything! Like really, out loud laughter. And it had the perfect ending with the beautiful sunset and that cute song. Thanks for giving us a glimpse into your little day of sunshine!

cute. He is such a doll. How come you moved out as soon as we moved in the ward. I was really looking forward to you!

I know, I thought the timing was especially awful too. :( Did your move go well?

Cotton candy on the chin... hilarious! Don't you think you should have done the whole head, too, and made this fabulous mad scientist baby? I love biscuits and gravy... yes, yes, yes! However, my family is not attached to them the way we were(are). It is so weird. I would like to thank your husband for banning the auto playlist. I just got the jeepers scared out of me by one of my friend's blogs because the house is so quiet, and it took a second for the music to start blaring.

Are we supposed to avoid using your names on these comments? I just noticed that your blogs seem to lack names...

I don't know about the names thing. I know some bloggers who have it all out there for the world to see and many readers, and some who are very protective of others. I don't really mind our first names, but when I am dealing with people who may not know they are making a cameo on my blog I try not to use them. I don't know, but our first names are all over the place so...yeah.
