So, back in the day when I was a spry swing dancer we had a group of girls that always talked about getting together and making vintage dresses together. It never really came together, which always made me sad. I unfortunately do not learn from reading very well I need to see how things are done and why, I have never really learned how to sew. I am determined this Summer to come away with some kind of sewing skills. Anyway, I have been looking for inspiration that will help me muddle through the grueling learning process. :) and I have come across some blogs that those of you with a vintage aesthetic may enjoy. Also, I am linking to it because I really want to win the giveaway.
The Mysterious Life of the Metropolitan Housewife: Give Away! Give Away!
So check that out. Also, This lovely lady has some really cute patterns. I want to try the skirt and the parfait dress I think.
I also found this lovely lady. All of these blogs have cool stuff on them like how to add a peter pan collar to things and just wonderfulness. Check it out.
Ok, so I found one more. She actually gets dresses and things from thrift stores and then makes them wonderful. which is super cool, and she has lots of giveaways if that's not incentive I don't know what is.
So, I think I need to just dig in my heels get over my impatience and try to make something. My problem is my peasant shaped body. I have no waist to speak of, so my waist is one size and the rest of my body is another. Any tips on that? I am assuming I get the larger size pattern and then try to size down the other pieces. I don't know, I wish I knew more about sewing. Trial and error I guess.
Hope you guys enjoy.

Judgement...
Howdy friends It is I, out collecting your prayers yet again.
We finally heard back and it seems that it is all in the hands of a judge right now. Therefore, I am praying that the mother has a total change of heart and actually does what is best for her child in this situation or that the judge goes out on a judgely limb and actually rules in favor of the child. Either way, we need more prayers. I know you are all probably praying regardless I just think sometimes it's good to know what specifically to pray for so that's the specifics at the current time.
Thanks friends!
I painted my entry mind numbing retina burning yellow, It was pretty bad. I painted over it with white and now it is lemon meringue beautifulness. Hooray for fixing things. I will take a picture once it's all put back together. My friend had gotten me some butterfly wall sticker thingies and they are going to be awesome in there it's going to be my butterfly springtastic room! Unless of course I decide our bedroom should be butterfly tastic, unless of course the hubby decides he would rather our room not be butterfly tastic. So many factors.
Anyway, that's the updates. Sorry they are dull, hopefully good news will be abounding soon. Oh yes, pray that the right decision is made in a timely manner. Yay, timely!

Projects...
First of all, thank you for all of your comments. My one beef with blogger is that I can't really just comment back in a simple way. If I comment back on my post will you even see it? I always forget to click the email me follow up comments box. Or do I go to your blog and post on yours with unrelated gobelty gook? So I will say thank you here. Thank you!
So my friend told me I should document my projects. Unfortunately, I didn't take a before shot of the side yard. It doesn't look wonderful if you don't know where it's beginnings were. I moved piles of wood. Killed millions of spiders. It was rough work. Any way here it is in all of it's glory!

I am pretty excited about the cushions on the free chairs from off the side of the road. I got them on clearance and yes the cushion on the chair is also a lounger cushion, I couldn't argue with the clearance price. It works, sort of...we do what we can right? Oh and excuse the Hugo butt. He just likes to get in the way...
Here is my neatly stacked wood and loverly bike. You know her as the bedazzeled bike of goodness and light...

Ok, so let me explain. I saw in a beautiful magazine maybe Domino or Real Simple where they had painted the back of the built in shelves red and then had a robins egg blue wall color and I loved it but was unsure of committing to red. So I tried yellow. I don't like it and it will be going back to white. As if my house needs anymore going on. *cue Circus music* My house is a carnival of color and maybe a little crazy. So, bad idea, will be going back to white. In a "real simple" house it may have worked but not in my crazy pants place...

My family room before

My house is very window-y so it's hard to get a good shot of my living room but you can see my wall color and new couch. Yay new couch. I like the new color it's bright and cheery. I thought my room was green originally, but when we put the blue by that color it looked very khaki it was weird. More painting projects to come...
Family room after.

I am making a list of projects, so hopefully I can get them all done. I think I will be able to with a little help from my friend. She owes me, she totally left me on the magical musical bed to fend for myself...

Two weeks of roller coaster fun, or not so fun, yeah not fun...
Hi,
Ok, so I will just kind of type like a mad woman and answer questions later. Last week we were supposed to hear about a little girl we might have had the opportunity to adopt. We have not heard anything. We have called, not info. Communication becomes hard on a one way street, so I have been wondering if now that the time is here if the family is having a hard time dealing with the realities of life, which, I totally understand. I can't imagine giving up a baby I had been raising for over a year. I get it, but at the same time, could we communicate that? It's not exactly a pic nic to be told you are going to get to adopt a child, your dreams are going to come true and then just hear nothing. It's kind of tortuous. So last Sunday we got blessings from our bishop. They did not ring of happiness and light, basically it said we needed to buckle up for things not to go smoothly. Great. So I figure the not running smoothly is lack of information and I don't really know what to do about it. I am thinking maybe a letter. (this woman can talk and this way we can express our feelings and explain that we know this has got to be killing her...ect.)
So Tuesday my one friend up here and I went into town. We decided to stop by Downtown Flag. (This is a side story by the way,)We are walking around feeling poor when we come across and interesting store with a very interesting man who owns it. It's full of strange instruments. He has a magical musical bed. I took a ride on it. Basically you lay on this wooden bed thing with a cushion on it, and dude comes over and sits by it and strums it and sings. There is a tranquility triangle hanging over it made of copper plumbing pipe and crystals. I would call it an uncomfortable moment. My friends phone rang and she went outside. Thanks friend you rock! ;) So it's just me in this weird store with a strange but friendly man singing to me as I lay on this bed thing. The vibrations are supposed to do something, they felt weird to me, at first it was like I couldn't breathe weird hu? Unfortunately, I saw the tip jar for the magical musical bed after I took a ride. I wouldn't have done it if I had known, at the same time do you tip for crazy uncomfortable moments? I don't know. He was cool and the instruments were cool though. If you got a buck you might just try the magical musical bed, it makes your day much more interesting.
Tuesday on our way home I got a call from my magical musical friend Jessica. She heard about another baby and our information had been given to someone who knew more. This woman called me that night. I must have misunderstood her but I thought there was a very good shot that we could be parents by this weekend. So, dummy me, I stayed up all night naming her. Then in the morning found out that there was already a couple who wanted her and were planning on adopting her but we were next on the list. Well in my experience you don't drive hours and hours to go pick up a baby you are not ready to adopt. So, had kind of a crappy day. Wednesday was a tearful and sad day for me. Not that I don't think it's going to happen, but I would prefer this weekend as opposed to some unknown date in the hopefully near future. So, that's the story.
I thank you for your prayers. My mom and I both feel like our baby is on it's way soon, so do not feel your prayers are a lost cause. It's gonna hit one of these days and we can have a party! Today I cleaned my side yard. I killed a centipede and pulled out the bedazzled bike of goodness and light. It was a good day. I can't wait to enjoy my side yard. I need to make a porch swing holder type thing. Any tips?
Happy anniversary to us! Jason and I have been married for 5 years. As much as this infertility thing has really sucked, I do feel like Jason and I have become very close and have grown closer and better because of it. I am very blessed. He makes me laugh constantly, he will do anything for me, he calms me down. He gives me blessing on an almost constant basis lately. He just plain and simple rocks. I was going to write him a ukulele song but the side yard needed desperate attention. I also don't know about my song writing abilities and feel it might take me more than a day. I am not musically inclined.
Anyway, maybe this Summer I can ride around on my bedazzled bike of goodness and light and get some more stuff done. Maybe that's how I can look at it. I have more time to get some stuff done before the baby comes. I will make the most of it.
Thank you all for your prayers. I do know that I would be a blubbering wreck without your love and support. They are being answered in that I am not quite insane yet, and I thank you muchly...
Oh and I LOVE pandora. It's so cool. Ingrid Michaelson station it pretty much rocks.

Raw
I feel very open and raw and I think I don't like feeling that visible and vulnerable. I wonder if I am supposed to learn how to function in this state. I would rather be closed off and hidden and blend into the background at this time. I don't know that I will ever feel comfortable or OK with being open and raw, but maybe I will learn to function better in that state.
I wish we knew anything.
We bought a couch. Now to get it all the way home with the dogs and all of our other junk. Not to mention the trundle bed we picked up for our friends. I don't want to go home, I am home. Can we just stay?
Hubby was right, this week was going to be hard because of not knowing anything, not hearing anything, not being communicated with. So many things in my life are so shadowed and vague, and I am sick to death of it. Maybe that is why I need to learn to live on the open raw side of life. God is shoving me out of my comfort zone. Growth. It's like I know I need it, but yeah...
