blessed...

Life is tough. That's just the truth of the matter. There is always something, always a bump, always an obstacle, always a problem to overcome. It's just the way it is. It's the way it was meant to be. We grow and become better through these things.

I was just reminded that even though things are still very much unsettled and not exactly how I would like them to be, I am immensely blessed. Which I knew, but I wasn't focusing on that, I was focusing on the unsettled, the balls in the air, waiting for the other shoe to drop, but if I look this other direction, I see the sweetest boy in the world, the super best husband ever, wonderful people who are kind and let us have a beautiful roof over our head, and family and friends and lots and lots of love.

We are so very blessed. I am so very blessed.

Two months ago...

There were tubes and we weren't allowed to touch, and we couldn't hold you.

And even though it was scary, I felt totally calm and peaceful, I knew you would be OK. I didn't know anybody could be born so very purple but I knew you would be OK. We had the nicest nurses and we were so blessed by them.

We brought you home, and loved you lots.

And now you are a chunky happy kid, and we still love you lots and lots and lots.

And I promise even when I am making you do tummy time, I still love you lots and lots and lots, even though you hate it, lots and lots and lots.

I'd like to blame many things

But in the end, I think I am just missing too much sleep.

The husband and I stay up way too late, then the baby gets up way too early and then I am a zombie for the rest of the day. It's not cool.

I get to go be a mountain climbing goddess today and I all I want to do is go back to bed, plus these yoga pants look weird on me. I didn't know yoga pants could look weird, but somehow these manage to do so. So instead, I get to look like a beginning rock climbing zombie with ill fitting yoga pants. yayayayayay. Who are these people who look good while they go out to exercise, and why is it always so hard for me to spell exercise? It takes me at least three try's almost ever time. I put mascara on as a way to mask my zombie-like state. I don't think it's working. I will most likely feel like a doofus for several weeks, before the rock climbing goddess comes out, but I hope I stick with it.

My toothbrush has gone missing so I am using my travel one. Where could it go? I have no idea, last I used it, it was in the bathroom where toothbrushes should be.

I suppose it's time to go. At least I get to see Rach, and she will be encouraging. Goodbye bed and pillow and sleep and wonderfulness. I hope I get skinny!

My day so far...

It's 2:21pm.

I am a slug. A completely useless slug.

The baby is sick, so I feel bad and like I brought this on him so I am watching him like a hawk.

I have basically read this blog all day long because it makes me laugh. And lamented the fact that I can't draw worth beans.

I did manage to pull on some shorts and put on a bra to go out and get us some lunch at the nagging of my husband. I did that at 2.

I have scratched my bug bites on a constant basis.

I have thought about doing laundry and washing bottles, but that has not translated into doing as of yet.

I would like to blame it on hormones and birth control and the sun and lack of sleep, but I think I may just be a lazy bum.

I don't know...

It is my considered opinion that AZ should come up with some daylight wasting time, I have very little desire to do much until the sun goes down and by then many places close or I am tired again...lame. It would also be hard to get any kind of respectable politician to back something that was wasteful, and by respectable I mean, a total...well, let's not go there.

Pirate Panda of DOOOOOOOOM!

This little guy escaped long long ago and found his way to my dear friend Karrrrrtney, by way of his black pearl box, but I thought I would share.

My crocheting is slowing way down, but I hope to keep working on stuff. It will probably get easier as the boy gets bigger.

Hooooray Friends...

My BFF is going to take me under her wing and teach me how to rock climb. I am excited, well, excited and scared. I am worried about the doofus level being off the charts, but I would've felt that way anywhere. In any dance class, especially with mirrors I always felt like I stuck out like a sore thumb, the plus about rock climbing is the rocks are not mirrors so yay for that! I am excited.

Also, I now have photoshop on my computer! Yayayayay! So hopefully pictures will be a more frequent thing.

Sorry about yesterday, just had to get that off my chest. Today I feel much better. I got a lot done. That always helps me feel better.

The end.

shoes

I mentioned earlier the shoes I wore twice last week and not at all this week. Last week I was sick and weak and I managed to spice up my week. This week? I am a total blob of not wanting to do anything or go anywhere. I just want to sleep. It may have something to do with the fact that it's eleven billion degrees outside. It's so gross.

So here are my sparkly pink shoes of light and joy. I am sure you will be jealous.

And here is the Tater tot rocking her own look in shoes...

She did do that on her own. It was pretty cute.

Yay shoes!

Just for the record, it still absolutely astounds me how early children start fighting sleep. Really? You are a newborn you are supposed to love sleep. He is his most grumpy and hard to deal with just before he crashes out. Good thing he is so cute.
