My yarny adventures...

I can't find all of my pictures, but I thought I would share what I could find.

I think crochet is really helping me not go insane. It's been good for me. When we move back to the valley (did you know we are moving back to the valley? We are, isn't that exciting?) Anyway, I think it would be fun to start some kind of crochet club or something. People can come learn and and get better etc. Assuming it involved tasty food I think it could be really awesome. I have to speak in church on Sunday. I was hoping for a nice light topic that would be low in tears shed, but alas, I was given Forgiveness by my husband. Thanks honey. That's a nice and light topic. Hopefully it comes together. It might help if I got off of the computer and stopped making things out of yarn. Oh well...



This is a monkey I made for my aide TC. She pretty much rocks and monkeys are her favorite.



I have made several pears, they are easy, but probably the cutest things I have ever seen.

And my latest and probably greatest, Ruby the pink peg leg pirate princess...

Ruby is my cousins little girl. When her birthday was coming up, she was asked what she would like. Her reply was to ride in a hot air balloon or jump out of a plane with a parachute. For Halloween Ruby wanted to be a pink peg leg pirate. Of course, that just made me smile, so when I saw the pattern for this. I just had to make it and make it look like Ruby. I even tried to add glasses, but haven't figured that out yet. Maybe I will give it another try tonight.

I wrote a poem about Ruby the pink peg-leg pirate princess. I took it to school today with the doll and read it. One of my little girls decided I should write a poem about each of them and make them all a pirate. Ooops, I didn't think they would come up with that.

Ruby the Pink Peg-leg Pirate Princess

Ruby lou was a princess true,
Her parents were kind and loving too
They taught her exactly what was right to do

Ruby lou was a princess true,
But at night when the moon shone through
She had important work to do
She loved adventure, wouldn’t you?

She would carefully put on her leg of wood
Her eye patch that really fit her good
it was bejeweled (as an eye patch should)
She worel pink as a princess would.

She’d gather the crew salty and set
She always took her favorite pet
“We have work to do men, do not forget,
those who are tired and lonely and wet”.



On the high seas of fear and woe
Over the mountainous waves she would blow
And look for those who knew not where to go
She brought them back when the tide was low.

She made them laugh she made them smile
She’d let them pet her parrot Kyle
She shared she gave with every mile
She saved them from their sad sad style

Thank you thank you Ruby Lou!
You are a princess through and through
We didn’t know just what to do
Until you came and helped us too!

Ruby Lou was a princess true
Adventure was her favorite thing to do
She helped others, and always came through
