Comforting dad...

128/365

The man of the house has been really sick. We aren't sure what it is but it's painful. Of course the kids could not be kept away from the poor pain ridden man. That's how it rolls around here. They shared their popcorn and smiles and I am sure he felt much better.
Also, I got a new lens! Yay!

and I got this with it.
Cute right?

Busy day...

127/365

I unpacked a lot of my long lost plates today and tried to get some things organized. My kids were left to their own devices and did pretty well.
The boy misplaced his blanket yesterday after his nap. I found it, but decided rather than give it back and possibly make things harder for Friday, maybe the blanket will just be gone. He went to bed with no real issue. I was surprised but today was a little rough. Nap time especially was rough and no nap was taken. We had a huge HUGE giant sized probably the worst ever from him meltdown during bath time and he fell asleep early. I am hoping it won't be too long of this. I know it's hard for him.
Hoping for a brighter tomorrow.
Teaching consequences is not fun. Necessary, but not fun.

Shark boy and the pilot...

126/365

Shark boy. I wish you could see him dance. It's so stinking adorable.

Today we lost the blanket. Like legitimately lost. He had it at nap time and then poof gone. He went to bed without it and with very little fuss. I am amazed and feel like maybe God does care about little insignificant things that can make all the difference in our lives. Seriously. Feeling blessed tonight. Now, I do think there will be times I will need some sanity because he is off the walls crazy, but at least he's cute. Hooray for tender mercies.

The sad truth...

125/365

Have you ever chosen the easy way?
Deep down in your soul of souls you know, you know this was not the path to take.
You justify.
You make excuses.
You give in.
You took the easy road and now? Well, now,  you pay the toll.
One day you look up and your baby boy is going to be four with crazy bucked teeth because you couldn't bear to take away the blankie.
That blanket is like Ritalin I tell you!
He is bouncing off the walls running screaming knocking things over with brute force. Destruction lays in his path, and all the while laughing as you try to reason with him. Give him that blanket it all goes away and he sits quietly for a few minutes and may even fall asleep.
I knew it had to go, but we moved away and I got pregnant.
I knew it had to go but the babies came so very early.
I knew it had to go but we moved again.
I knew it had to go but I didn't want to deal with the inevitable pain and anguish.
I was busy.
I didn't want to hurt him.
And now it may hurt more.
I've been preparing him for this transition.
He has asked if he can just turn three again.
He has begged.
He has pleaded.
I am scared.
I am angry at myself.
On most things I have been able to look ahead and make the tough choice early on to avoid future pain and suffering, but on this I caved.
I am pretty sure I am taking it much harder than he is.
I have been eating my feelings.
I had failure for breakfast.
Guilt for lunch
Anger for dinner
and a large helping of self loathing for dessert.
I have been stressing about his little feelings and heart.
I have been eating my feelings,
which makes me feel horrible,
now I will stay fat.
So I eat more feelings.
and I just...
yeah.
Have you ever chosen the easy way?
Easy?

PS. 9 months is the golden hour of taking away. Do not do what I did.

Snuggle bug

123/365
Moonpie needed some love.
He is my snuggle bug bear and I have a hard time capturing his essence. He is in my lap in my space and gives the best hugs.
This lens is just too close to catch the booger.
But I loved this one. I got better ones today, but gotta give the snuggle bug some love.
He has had a rough week as witnessed by the bump on his poor little noggin. Poor Moonpie.

Junk in the trunk...

122/365
My bestie traveled to come to Junk in the Trunk with me. I bought this for $65. I know right? M is my friend of doing. She makes me get stuff done and for that I love her so. We hung up my pictures and got this chandelier up all in a few hours.  She's my doing muse.

Vanity...

121/365
I could take more pictures of the meltdown...
But I decided to take some pictures of this vanity, well, because it was less loud.
We went to see Mike Birbiglia and ate yummy food and it was a lovely night. I have the best friends.
