If mom needs to mop the kitchen floor.

If mom needs to mop the kitchen floor.
She will probably need to clean and wipe down the counters.
When she's cleaned and wiped down the counters, she will have to clean and wipe down the table.
The floor will be covered with crumbs and dirt.
She will vacuum.
While she is vacuuming she will realize that until she gets the back patio cleaned up, all of this is futile.
She will clear off the patio and start the hose.
The hose will remind the kids that they want to be where mom is.
One kid will insist on wearing soaking wet socks.
He will dance in the puddles and scream in delight.
Cleaning the patio will take a while because it's been all winter.
The kids will play in the sandbox.
Mom will remind the children that the sand stays in the sandbox approximately 1 million times.
"Wet socks" will run through the sand and then across the newly cleaned patio approximately 1 million times.
Mom will start to wonder why she tries.
Mom will finally give up chasing wet socks and his tracks across the patio and call it good.
The sandy children will request a bath.
Mom will run a bath.
When the kids are bathed and dressed, mom will make lunch and start a show.
Three children will order three different things.
 Making lunch will remind mom that she was going to mop the floor.
She will start to mop.
When she's sitting on the floor she will see all the yucky baseboards.
She will clean those too.
Children will ask approximately 1 million times if they can come in and have a snack.
Mom will remind the children that they just ate lunch and that they can wait.
Mom will remind the children that the floor is very slippery when wet approximately 1 million times.
Mom will hide under the kitchen table and wonder why she tries.
While mom is sitting under the table she will remember that she is hungry.
She will make herself some lunch.
The kids will be reminded that they too are hungry and ask for snacks.
Mom will make them wait until she has eaten.
When everybody has snacks mom will lay down for a moment.
Laying down will remind the children that they want to be where mom is, it will also remind mom that the twins need to take a nap.
The twins will take a nap.
Mom will rest a bit.
Mom will go check on older brother outside and find a train full of sand dumped on the patio.
And if there is a train full of sand on the patio, you can be sure the kitchen floor probably needs to be mopped again.
